it’s been a long time since i’ve blogged! sorry about that, life has gotten busy. we ended our spring semester, then i dog/cat/house sat for friends, started a part time job, and then started my may term class. it’s been a super busy few weeks. i started working part time at a domestic violence shelter in the area and i’m having some trouble reconciling this new job with my experience at my old job. my center in PA was professional, client centered, and confidential. this new center is much more lax about confidentiality, training and safety. it has me wondering if it’s the right place to work or not. i’m also not sure if i want to get back into crisis work again. toward the end of my 3 years at home i was pretty affected by the stories that i heard each day, i just don’t know if it’s a good idea to jump back into those waters or not.

my may term class is ‘ecology and hope’ it’s a spectacular class filled with field trips and vibrant conversation. it’s challenging at times and i’m struggling with not taking things personally. i’m going to be the chair of the ecological awareness committee next year and i’m feeling responsible for any and every eco travesty that is going on. but it’s not my fault, and i’m hoping to work on the problems next year as chair. one of the things i’ve done is to start another blog. this one will be specifically about green issues and eco theology. i’ll probably post things both places, but nothing that would go here is going to go there. just the other way around. if that makes sense. i’m quite intrigued by the ecology movement and am drawn to the passionate arguments for treating God’s creation with love and respect. you can find a link the blog on this page, down on the blogroll. hope you’ll check it out! oh while i’m on the green kick, something to check out:
